If you’re currently enrolled in a healthcare training program, you’ll have to eventually prepare for exams during your semester. Preparing for an exam can sometimes be stressful, and you may be nervous about how you will perform on your test.
If you study ahead of time, you could perform well. Cramming right before your test decreases your chances of retaining information. But to maximize your study time, you’ll also need to know study techniques that promote long-term retention.

1. Take ten minute breaks

Taking a break also helps prevent you from becoming restless and distracted during study sessions.
2. Change locations
Studies suggest that changing the location where you study every day can help improve memorization and make students less likely to forget their study material. When you study in a new environment, your brain forms new associations with the same material. Several different associations build stronger visual memories of your notes.
3. Spaced repetition
The learning technique called spaced repetition can improve your cognitive abilities and memory performance. The technique advises students to break up their notes into small sections, and then study them consistently over time. Start by learning a few lines or paragraphs of notes. On your next study day, review your previous notes before beginning a new lesson. During your ten minute break, take advantage of distracter activities like preparing a meal or going for a short walk. 4. Write your notes

5. Study before bedtime
